PROJECT OF THE MONTH
- Project name: BVH Störk The continuing evolution of aluminium shutters is strikingly demonstrated by this project. The solar protection required and developed here reflects the perfect combination of aluminium with other materials - in this particular case Fundermax panels. In what is to a certain extent new ground, several special features had to be resolved and designed into the model. Again the priority here was to find the most advantageous adaptation of the oversize panel elements to the facade. The greatest challenge was engendered by the material which the customer wanted to use. Not just conventional Fundermax panels were to be incorporated, but panels attached as lamellae at an angle to the 50 x 40 mm L-profile frame. In addition, everything had to be made with no visible screwed joints or rivets which made adhesive bonding necessary. With element dimensions of up to 2000 x 2500 mm this was obviously quite a challenge which resulted in a technically and visually perfect implementation. The model designed here has an all-round frame of extruded 40 x 50 x 5mm aluminium L-profile, which due to the width of panel is additionally fitted with a mullion. For angling the lamellae, a special aluminium inlay grid was used, to which the approx. 70 mm wide Fundermax lamellae were bonded. The priority here was to identify and utilize a durable and proven bonding technology. In addition the complete frame was pre-coated in the desired colour. The panel elements were utilized mainly as frontal solar-protection elements able to be moved freely in several levels for this building. The fitting method used is characterized by its ease of use, as well as silent running and precise operation. The perfect combination of materials used and the colour scheme chosen, show the elements to their full advantage on the building. You can find further information about the model used in the product heading "Sliding shutters".
