For this building project, the timely cooperation between architect, installation company and AST could be ideally implemented. As a consequence, an unusual solution for solar protection as well as for the facade was planned and implemented.
Since the project involved a kindergarten, perfect and particularly safe functioning of the sliding shutters was a prerequisite. This was an important aspect of the design, which was managed perfectly with the hardware method used.
Using a telescopic system enables the packages of panels to be uniformly opened and closed and thus be moved simultaneously. With packages of up to 4 panels on each, side it is possible to protect the extremely large window elements with a single one-sided parking position. Furthermore, by opting for motorisation, the greatest possible convenience is assured. In order to noticeably simplify the installation on site, the hardware fitting was practically entirely carried out in the factory. Thus innumerable installation hours could be saved for the customer and simple and rapid installation enabled.
The main focus of attention with this execution was unmistakeably the design of the SOLTIS model in part with printed fabric. In accordance with the architect's ideas, half of the sliding elements were printed with predefined motifs. The particular highlight: The drawings were made in the course of an artist competition, the best 24 being awarded a prize and selected for printing. Interpreting the customer's or rather the children's, was the priority here and it was achieved to everyone's satisfaction.
Another reason for choosing AST: Through a fixed date for moving in, this special order was manufactured and preassembled on time. With the additional support of our representative and induction of the installation personnel on site, an accurate and trouble-free installation was achieved.

This project illustrates perfectly, how hinged shutters can contribute to the special appearance of any building. Irrespective of whether it is a new build or a renovated building, there is a suitable model including suitable installation system for all requirements.
Working together with one of our partners and fitting companies, it was possible to select the suitable model based on the end customer's requirements and preferences. The customer's ideas were able to be realised perfectly with the model Sys C/A . The Sys C/A model represents the traditional type of window shutter with fixed standing lamellae and fitted panel. An intrinsic part of the order and important remit entailed the choice of colours in order to emphasise the character of the building. Using the enormous range of colours available to AST, it was possible to make a selection quickly.
Special detailing with laser cut outs in tulip form was used. The drawings were created by us and adapted for the various sizes of shutter.
This special feature can be chosen from a range of standards, or using the customer's own design.
With our fast-fitting system "SystemFix“, an optimum installation system was chosen which enabled significant time savings to be made. In addition, the hardware such as e.g. mountings or fastenings could be pre-fitted in the factory to save time and expense. This made fast and accurate installation on site child's play.
Our sales representatives were ready to assist with taking dimensions or training fitting personnel on site. This was another project then, which was able to be completed without a hitch.

We were able to handle this project in very close proximity to our company headquarters. Of course, this enabled us to keep very close contact with the responsible persons of the contractors carrying out the work. Here again, we started with the customer's plans and worked together to develop a detailed solution for the sliding shutters required.
For example, special suspension brackets were designed to facilitate quick and easy installation on site. A completely new design for the lower guide rail was developed and adapted for the installation conditions.
Due to the combination of several window elements in one rail, precise measurement and manufacturing was a crucial factor. This however made it possible to have the sliding shutters always flush with the slide rail when open. The widths of the shutters in relation to one another, were calculated so that there is no overlap of individual elements. The elements thereby provide optimum protection from the sun, when closed.
In this case too, completion of the project was designed to meet the customer's requirements. The suspension plates were supplied in advance for pre-assembly. The slide rails were supplied as complete pre-assembled units, with all rail elements marked with the customer's item numbers. Through attention to such detail, innumerable hours for installation could be saved.
On-site training of installation personnel at the start of the project by our service engineer, contributed significantly to unproblematic and fast installation in the case of this large-scale project too.
The model S, with the successful colour scheme chosen here, matches the facade and surroundings perfectly.

We carried out our continuous project development service perfectly on this project. Starting with the initial plans from the customer, the entire system (shutters, top and bottom guide system, colour adaptation etc.) was systematically developed and worked out with our engineers. Continuously adapted to the latest design details from the customer, the job was also finally delivered for installation in accordance with customer requirements. All of the pre-drilled track elements were delivered in advance for on-site installation, whereby all of the elements were marked with the customer’s position numbers. Attention to detail therefore reduced the number of hours spent by the customer on installation.
The separate delivery of sliding bi-fold shutters and sliding shutters that had been completely preassembled in the factory with position markings was also installed by the customer within an extremely short time. Prototype preassembly and on-site training for the installation personnel from our service engineer at the beginning of the project also made an important contribution in achieving this. The individual partial orders were delivered in less than 5 weeks in spite of complete hardware pre-installation.
