THE SHUTTER AS A PURE STYLE ELEMENT

Shutters can also be used as nothing more than architectural design
elements – without being able to be opened or closed. Dummy shutters
remove the need for expensive hardware and give the building the unique
accent that can only be achieved with shutters.

All type 1 models and many type 2 models are suitable as dummy shutters.
Mounting holes are drilled behind the shutter or lugs are attached to the
wall for installing the shutters. The shutter is then fitted flush to the wall in
such a way that the shutter appears to be either open or closed.
