October 1996 AST established
January 1997 First shutters tested on test benches (wind tunnel, vibration bench etc.)
April 1997 First successful sales, first printed documentation and marketing material, first large projects.
1998 Market entrance in Switzerland and Germany. Production area increased to 600m2.
1999 Change to 2-shift operation. AST is the first shutter manufacturer to be ISO 9002 certified.
2000 Company relocates to current site in Nenzing. Construction of 1,100 m² production area and 200 m² administration area in just three months. Market launch of the “JustierFix” quick installation system.
2001 Market entrance in France. Second plant for moving models and custom-made designs such as arches etc. set up in Kappel-Grafenhausen (Germany) right on the French border. Takeover of Alcolor in Dornbirn and therefore a state-of the-art powder coating system.  First and (at present) only shutter manufacturer in Europe to achieve certification in accordance with ISO 9001:2000.
2002

Production area increased by 2,000 m².

2003 Alcolor relocates to Nenzing where it is in immediate proximity to AST, which reduces delivery times considerably. Market launch of the “SystemFix” invention, patented throughout Europe.
2004

Introduction of “SystemFix II” and “JustierFix II”. Introduction of internal process management with further reduction in delivery times and increase in capacity.

2005

Market launch of the “new JustierFix” hardware system. Production area increased by 1,100m² for final assembly and packing.

2006

Take-over of French company Grosheitsch.

2007

Market entrance in the Benelux states. Further reduction in delivery times by means of production optimisations.

2008

First large projects in the sliding shutter area. New sliding shutter products with model series H and SOLTIS. New coating system.

2009

Introduction of model series G (insulated shutters). Market entrance in northern Italy. Additional large projects in the sliding and sliding bi-fold shutter area in France, Germany, Austria and other countries.
